HOTELS
There
is a wide range of various standards of accommodation available
throughout the country. These range from five star class hotels
specially in Port Moresby and four star class and less in
the outer provinces. As Papua New Guinea is not a mass tourism
destination there is always accommodation available most times
but during special annual cultural show accommodation needs
to be booked well in advance. Rather than provide a detailed
listing of accommodation facilities, we prefer to handle all
booking one your behalf to avoid unnecessary time consuming
and costly inconveniences.
In the outback rural areas there are numerous village lodges
and guest. These are in many respects very basic but comfortable
and enables you to be closer to the people and their natural
habitats. Most main center hotel offer excellent international
cuisine and menus. Further away from the main urban centers
you get a greater opportunity to sample some tasty local food.
We endeavor to enhance maximum opportunity to get you away
from the hustle and bustle of the overly western influenced
cities and main towns into the unique villages to ensure you
experience the real PNG.
On
our village study and adventure tours we include Haus Poroman
Lodge in Mt, Hagen, set high on Kuta ridge commanding panoramic
views of Mt. Hagen City in the center foreground, with the
actual Mt. Hagen in the background, the fertile Waghi Valley
to the east and Nebilyer Valley and Tomba Pass to the west.
Betty's Lodge at Keglsugl is used as the base accommodation
for our Mt. Wilhelm Trek and higher up the Lake Piunde Guest
House to overnight in preparation for a very early morning
accent to the summit of Mt. Wilhelm (PNG's highest mountain
at just over 4509 metres). On the Huli Trek we can alternate
according to requirements, the unique Ambua Lodge or for the
hardened adventurer we include the Warili Guest House for
a memorable experience of the colorful Huli Wigmen.
